Everyone has their own heroes, whether it is Superman, Batman, Spiderman, or one of the many other superheroes that save the day. Comic books are the one place to read about these heroes and their daily lives as crime-fighting vigilantes.
“I’ve read a couple comics here and there and really enjoyed them,” says freshman Spencer Boyce, “I really enjoyed them! My favorite is probably Batman.” Spencer said. “My favorite part of them is probably that they are really entertaining and you can collect them.” Spencer said.
Spencer is right, while not only can you collect them they can be worth lots of money if you buy the right ones. Like in 2011, a Spiderman comic book sold for 1.5 million dollars. While the first Superman comic was sold for 250 thousand dollars. In fact Action Comics are worth the most money, followed by Detective Comics, and with thousands of different heroes to choose from, it’s hard not to find a favorite for everyone.
“I don’t read comics a lot, but I do like them,” says freshman Matthew Simpson, “my favorite superhero is probably green arrow, because I love archery!” said Matthew. “My favorite part is probably the action and the way they do the speech bubbles for the different tones and voices.” said Matthew.
While I do love other books, comics and superheroes are my life. Whether I’m reading about Superman, Spiderman, the Avengers or any other hero, I’m always pleased with the story line and the illustrations of Marvel and DCcomics.
Comic books are great and exciting to read and almost anyone can sit down and enjoy a comic book. Besides reading them, you can also collect, trade, and sell them. And while these superheroes might not be real, it’s always great to read about their exciting adventures in crime stopping!
