Everyone remembers the old Pavilion in Myrtle Beach. Everyone would go and hangout and enjoy all the rides that the park had to offer.
Now it may be making a comeback. An application has been filed for a carnival on a four-acre portion of the former Myrtle Beach Pavilion.
The carnival would be located on the west side of Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Avenues North, near Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures. It would run from June 9 to September 6, according to the application filed with the City of Myrtle Beach Monday.
Strates Shows, Inc., in Orlando Florida, filed the application, which states the carnival would run from 10 a.m. to midnight.
The proposal includes endorsements from several owners of surrounding businesses, saying that it would draw more people to the area, increase business and parking revenues, and provide a family-friendly environment to downtown Myrtle Beach.
Some of the attractions listed in a layout plan for the carnival include: "Gravitron," "Orbiter," "Ring of Fire," "Pharaohs Fury," and "Up & Away." Food service will come from self-contained portable trailers, and will include: pizza, Italian sausage, hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy, funnel cakes, Philly steak and cheese, corn dogs, water, soda and soft drinks.
