Ever since 2008, the Myrtle Beach hardcore scene has slowly but surely vanished. Nobody really knows why, but 2013 has already had new hopes of reviving the hardcore scene.

There are new bands Vent (punk/Hardcore), Besetter, For Cause and Comrades (making a comeback), two that will go unnamed (HUGE things coming soon), and last but not least Short Fuse.

Short Fuse is a local hardcore band with members from the Murrells Inlet/Surfside area. Caustin Sutton and Chris McDonald are the vocalists, Carson Allen plays guitar, and Gavin Brunetti plays drums. The are also in search of a second guitarist and bassist as well.

Short Fuse takes and mixes melodic hardcore, with faster paced punk, and lastly beatdown hardcore. So far they have played two shows. One of them was at Murrells Inlet and the other was Charleston, South Carolina. Their next two shows will be May 25th at Rockin' Hard Saloon in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The very next day (May 26th) there will be a house show in Surfside Beach, South Carolina.

Short Fuse has a very rough recording up on their bandcamp page, but an EP should be recorded within the next two months.
