Almost everyone has had at least one thought about the end of the world, right? There is plenty of things that put these thoughts in your minds (i.e movies, television, the internet, and last but not least books). Have you thought about how you would survive in the event of the world as we know it ending? How would you survive? Where would your shelter be? How would you get food and water? Would your morals change without having a government and rules?

As I stand now, just like most others I think I would have a 50/50 chance of surviving an apocalypse (i.e zombies). I do not think that I would take the “Doomsday Preppers” approach per say, but I would use some of their ideas and add with my own. I would more than likely take the mindset of Darrell (The Walking Dead) and Tallahassee (Zombieland) and put them together. Having the redneck mindset seems to be the way to go.

I’ve always pondered on the idea of how I would survive the end of the world. First off, I understand that bigger SUV’s/Trucks may be bad for the environment but, just think what Zombies can you demolish in mass numbers just with a Prius? First of all, I would need a truck (Tahoe, Bronco, k5 Blazer) and weld the front of a Locomotive train to the front of it. After making changes and transformations to my vehicle making it the ultimate zombie destroyer and post apocalyptic war machine fully equipped with guns, bulletproof glass/doors, as well as changing the fuel tank to a hybrid tank, the whole enchilada essentially. My fully equipped military grade vehicle would be my shelter. How else would I survive? I definitely wouldn’t want to live out in the open, because there is that slight possibility that I would be killed in my sleep. Food and water are a must, I mean they are two basic necessities of life, and without it there would be none. Since I have my guns and knives and I would hunt for my food and collect rainwater to boil it so that it would be sterilized.

What can I say about a world without government? It already seems that the government is already going downhill with our debt and corruption for examples. How do I know to trust the government? Of course my morals would change in the event of an apocalypse. Wouldn’t yours? It’s just me and my family, hopefully. There are all I should care about. I can’t slow myself down with the dead weight of others. That could get me killed! It’s hard enough to trust and depend on others now, there is no way I would be able to do that in the post-apocalyptic world.

There are many others around the world that have their preparations for the end of the world, yet I do not. In the long run it could and would help them out and I would be the one screwed. I guess that there is a lot to think about if this were to happen. If worse comes to worse and there is an apocalypse, I think I would just wing it.
