Promote yourself, but do not demote another.
-Israel Salanter
Teenagers, high school students, preteens, everybody is obsessed with themselves and how good they appear to others. We never stop and take the chance of helping someone else, or pointing the spotlight on someone else. We are in a world where your position is how others view you. So of course we are all infatuated with ourselves and promoting ourselves.
We need to stop being so egotistic and help others. I’m not saying you give up a big promotion or do work for others, but you need to stop and wait a minute. Take a step back and realize that we are better united rather than divided. We can not proceed in life to be great if we don’t get help along the way.
Your parents, parent, or guardian help you, they feed you and shelter you and make sure you’re okay; be a helping hand to someone else. If someone is having a bad day give them a hug, talk to them, make them smile make them laugh! It really isn’t that hard to take five minutes out of your day to help someone.
We are here to change the world, if you think about it really long and hard we actually do change the world. Everything you do affects someone or something. If you have a negative attitude someone is sure to reject you or follow you by taking on the same attitude. Just be happy, I understand it is difficult and not everyone is an optimist, but the world has so much to offer. Stop and take time to appreciate things.
In Saudi Arabia the women there aren’t allowed to go around with anything but their eyes showing. They can’t go anywhere by themselves, they need a male with them at all times. So be thankful. In other parts of the world you wouldn’t be allowed to smoke or drink or wear whatever you want.
When you disrespect someone or even yourself it is hurtful. It is rude and completely unneeded. Stop being so self-centered, get over yourself, there are more important people and things in the world than you and your problems.
