Why does it matter to you if two people who love each other get married; does it affect you in any way? Many people say they are lucky we allow them to have civil unions, but civil unions don’t have the same rights as marriages.

Civil unions are not recognized in all states. A couple who is married gets maximum benefits, civil unions do not get maximum federal benefits.

If you are against gay marriage, then sit down and think for a second why it shouldn’t be allowed other than the fact that it is against your religion. Here is the big shocker; Christianity isn’t the only religion in the United States. Just because you don’t approve of what two people do doesn’t mean you have the right to stop them.

Are they hurting anyone? How are you going to tell someone who they love? It isn’t like they are asking to get married in a church, they just want to be married and have the same benefits as straight couples. That really is not that much to ask for due to the fact that it doesn’t affect how you live.

What happens if one day your child comes out to you, what would you do then? If your answer is you would kick them out, then you are heartless and irresponsible and you do not deserve to be a parent at all. There is something wrong in your head if you wouldn’t love someone the same.

In 1989, the United States Department of Health and Human Services issued a "Report on the Secretary's Task Force on Youth Suicide" which states that “A majority of suicide attempts by homosexuals occur during their youth, and gay youth are 2 to 3 times more likely to attempt suicide than other young people.”
So basically, the hatred built up inside because of peoples religion causes people to become depressed enough to commit suicide. Most Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) people are some of the nicest people you will every meet; they are just like everyone else.

But the question is brought up again, how are you affected by gay marriage being legalized? Forget about the religious aspect of it because that argument is invalid; how else does it affect you? Honestly, religion is the last thing that should be considered when creating laws.
