Valentines Day is a day to show your significant other or your best friend how much you love and care for them. Safe Haven came out in theaters on Valentines Day and you bet the movies were sold out!
Creator Nicholas Sparks is the best for making love stories everyone knows there will be a beautiful woman, who meets an equally handsome man, and they will become romantically involved until something tragic threatens their relationship and — well, you get the idea.
This story begins when Katie (Julianne Hough) secretly boards a bus, obviously on the run. She gets off in Southport, a tourist town in North Carolina where she rents a small cottage, gets a waitress job at the local fish shack and avoids forming any close relationships with the locals.
The relationship is threatened when Katie’s past begins to catch up with her. Through flashbacks, we learn about the harrowing experiences that forced Katie to flee, but Hough never makes us feel like her character has been traumatized. Safe Haven shamelessly riffs off of Sparks' biggest hit, The Notebook.
There's a romantic canoe ride, a sudden rainstorm, a quirky first slow dance and lots of shots of the dude hoisting the girl in the air. Needles to say that The Notebook and Safe Haven are probably the two #1 movies that are watched by everyone even though you have seen them a dozens times! Next time you go to the movies check out Safe Haven you don’t want to miss it.
