Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland is a popular seasonal attraction that comes to the beach every year. The parking lot in Pelican's Stadium is transformed into a huge blinking light display timed perfectly to music.

I attended this attraction with some of my friends last weekend and have some mixed reviews to report.

The technical merit of this display cannot be denied, everything was timed perfectly to the music on the radio. The show is controlled by hundreds of computers and has thousands of lights featured and is a true technological feat.

However, due to the size of the parking lot, upon pulling into the show you see the entire thing. The trail is tightly woven through the parking lot and displays and a good five minutes of looking out your window is enough to see the whole display. Do not expect an element of surprise, just enjoy the different tempo of each song and how it changes the feel of the show.

Please, do not attend this show without a very competent driver behind the wheel. You have to drive very slowly and carefully to avoid hitting the sides of the display or the other cars that will probably be watching the lights instead of the cars around them. The show is highly attention grabbing, which is great for the passengers but unnerving for the driver.

Also, be aware of the price. The $25.50 per car rate is fair if you go with a large group like I did, but everything in the Santa's Village at the end costs additional money, so watch your funds!

I imagine as a little girl I would find Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland a true holiday heaven, but as an admittedly thrifty teenager I wouldn't go again.
